Decorative Glass Door, Replacing Old Bi-fold Doors.

Decorative Pantry Door.

Decorative Glass Pantry Door.

Replacing Bi-fold doors with decorative glass door.

My client asked me to remove the bi-fold doors from her pantry and install a different door all together.
At first she wanted me to get a door that will match the bathroom door that you see in the background of the picture above.
The bathroom door has a pre-finish that was made in California.
We had no way to find the company or the door that was installed six years ago and I had no way to match the existing door.
I showed her the frosted glass French door from one of my doors catalogs and she liked it.
I gave her a price for the total job and she asked me to go ahead and do it.
The design on the glass was done by sand blasting on one side of the door over a stencil.
The image shades changes as you move the door by the effect of the room lights in front of the door and behind it.

I order the door and I hung it in a jamb at my shop and pained it white.

Few days later I came to her house, I removed the bi-fold door and installed the new door, trim and hardware.

She fell in live with this door.

  4. i'd love something like this for my place, but my husband keeps all his greasy man stuff in the closets and it would just bug me to no end…

  5. Makes a big difference! I remember those bi-fold doors, so unfortable. Thanks so much!

  6. It still amazes me how a door can change a room! It's funny, you see when you know it, and when you don't you know the room or decor needs something but you're not sure what. I love going to antique places for ideas and inspiration. Well done Dov!!!! It looks fantastic!

  7. Nice door and what really catches my attention is the design on the glass. Lovely, no wonder the lady fell in love with it.

  8. That looks like a really nice door! It is quite decorative:)

  31. What a great updated look! And the frosted glass makes it so you can't see all the stuff in the pantry. Great idea! Very elegant. Another winner!

  51. I had a folding door on the pantry in my old house. It was awful. I would much rather have had one of these!

  52. I am in LOVE with this door. No one likes the bi fold doors it seems.

  53. It's a pretty door! I don't have a door like that in our house but that would be neat to have in there.

  54. I never thought to use a decorative door like this for a pantry! But I love it! It is chic and classy and looks very nice!

  55. What a pretty idea to update a pantry! Bi-fold doors are such a pain. You did a wonderful job!

  56. I like this door and the image is nice, would be great for our condo apartment. So many details to put into consideration, it is better for me to give my door installations to a professional.

  57. I love the wheat stalk design etched in the glass. It's so appropriate for a pantry. I have my bi-fold doors on my laundry room. They never work right. Very unique door and good solution.

  58. I really like doors like this, we have plain doors for everything over here, and the doors like this give it much more character!

  59. I never loved bi-fold doors . Always hard to manage and kiddos love to move them inside out.

  60. I love decorative glass just not brave enough to have it with all the comotion I have going on here with youngs kids running around and so many dogs! One day though it will happen!

  61. I thought you only did like front and back doors! I love that you do other types of doors inside of a house! I would have never thought of replacing the pantry doors! They look good!

  62. I love the look of these doors…a great way to "spice" up the pantry! 🙂

  63. Dov Shapira looks like Shapira Builders is going to have to start an on-line business with all your great ideas and products!

  64. Those are gorgeous, I could definitely see them fitting in well in my home 😉 x

  65. This is so much nice than those folding doors. So many homes I show, have those folding doors and they end up falling apart. What a great idea you had here!

  66. I really like the frosted glass. Gives some dimension and interest to a room and makes it look bigger and brighter too I bet!

  67. Very pretty. Looks like a quick project!

  68. I replaced my bi-fold doors with some beautiful curtains. I hate those dang doors! When you have to cuss every time you open your closet, there is a problem.

  69. yes – bi fold doors aren't very pretty and kids pinch their fingers in them. this looks good

  70. I don't have any doors like this in my house, but I have this one closet with no doors at all, so bi-fold doors would be better than nothing I suppose.

  71. I am in love with this #door Dov. I wish you were closer there would be some remodeling going on here at home for sure.

  72. I absolutely hate bi-fold doors and think everyone in the world should replace them with a beautiful door like this one! You would be busy for years to come!

  73. The new installed door was lovable indeed. Also, the idea of image shades that changes whenever the door is moved is as awesome as the installed doors.

  74. Very interesting. Good to know. So much better looking than some of the traditional doors that are available!

  75. I am sure she fell in love with the door! It is amazing!

  76. I fell in love with it too! Such beauty this door has become! <3

  77. I like the door.

  78. I fell in love with it as well. I'm not a fan of the folding doors. They tend to jam every once in a while. I really love this one and the color white is perfect.

  79. That is really pretty!

  80. This is very pretty, Im not a fan of the folding doors but this looks awesome

  81. I have one folding door in my Hubs den. It hate them… but when I do mine, I want a full door with no window in it. I don't want anyone seeing all the junk he has in that closet.
